How to turn a presentation into a PDF
- Choose the presentation. A .pptx file, dragged in or picked.
- Press Convert to PDF. Each slide becomes a page.
- Download the PDF.
- Send it anywhere: it will look the same on the other end.
Why send a PDF instead of the .pptx
Because a presentation depends on fonts and a program the other person may not have.
Open someone else's deck without their fonts and the text reflows, the boxes shift and the careful layout comes apart. A PDF carries its appearance with it. It is also read-only in practice, which is usually what you want when you are sending slides rather than handing over a project.
What is lost on the way
Animations, transitions, video and audio. A PDF is a still document.
Complex effects and unusual fonts may also render differently. This is a conversion for sending and printing, not a substitute for opening the original when the original is what matters.
Frequently asked questions
Is the presentation uploaded to a server?
No. It is read and the PDF is written in your browser, on your own device.
Do animations survive?
No. A PDF is a still document: animations, transitions, video and audio are not carried across.
Will the fonts look right?
Standard fonts do. Unusual ones may be substituted, which can shift the layout slightly.
One slide, one page?
Yes. Each slide becomes a page, in the order they appear in the presentation.
