What is FilesShifters?
A set of tools that work on your files without ever sending them anywhere.
Most online file tools receive your document, process it on a machine you do not control, and send the result back. Here the code that does the work is downloaded once and then runs on your computer, the way an installed program would. Contracts, medical records, identity documents: none of them cross the network.
Why are my files not uploaded?
Because there is nowhere to upload them to: this site has no server that receives files. It is static hosting, and that is all.
You do not have to take our word for it. Every page declares a Content Security Policy that lists the few addresses it is allowed to contact, and your document is not among them: if the code tried to send it, the browser itself would block the attempt. Open your developer tools while you merge a file and watch the network traffic — you will see this page's own files, and no request carrying your documents away.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no limit on how often you use it.
There is nothing to create an account for. Your files never reach us, so there is nothing to store, nothing to bill by the megabyte, and no reason to ask who you are.
What are the limits?
The real limit is your device, not a plan: very large files are slow rather than forbidden.
Because the work happens in your browser, a big document is bound by your own memory and processor. A phone will take longer than a laptop. Nothing is capped at a size we chose in order to sell you an upgrade — there is no upgrade.
