How to crop a PDF
- Choose the document. Drag it into the area above or click to pick it.
- Drag the four handles until the page shows what you want, or type the margins as percentages if you prefer numbers.
- Choose the pages, or leave the field empty to crop all of them.
- Press Crop PDF and download the result.
Cropping hides, it does not delete
What falls outside the box stops being displayed, but it is still in the file.
A crop changes the box a reader draws, not the content underneath. That is fine for tidying a scan, and wrong for hiding something: if the margin held a name or a stamp you do not want seen, cropping will not remove it. Use Redact PDF, which destroys the content instead of framing it away.
Rotated pages are handled for you
You draw on the page as you see it; the tool works out what that means underneath.
A PDF page can carry a rotation, and its coordinates live in the unrotated system: on a page turned 90°, the edge you see at the top is the one at the smallest x. The margins you drag are remapped accordingly, so what you saw is what you get.
Frequently asked questions
Is the document uploaded to a server?
No. The preview and the crop both happen in your browser, on your own device.
Can I crop the same document twice?
Yes. A second crop starts from the current box, so trimming twice trims twice rather than starting over.
Does cropping make the file smaller?
Usually not much. The content outside the box is still there, just not shown — cropping is about what is visible, not about weight.
Can I crop only some pages?
Yes. Leave the page field empty for all of them, or write ranges like 1-3, 7 to crop only those.
